Codex Skin Index Hits 99 Skins: Wangnov Collection Passes 50

The Codex Skin Index crossed 99 indexed skins this week — and the single biggest contributor is the Wangnov open-source collection, which now accounts for more than half of everything in the catalog.

What changed this week

• 99 skins live, up from 26 a few weeks ago.
• Wangnov/awesome-codex-skins passed 50 skins — the largest single source in the index, spanning dark, light, terminal, and character themes.
• Category coverage completed for the eight curated groups: dark-midnight, light-airy, anime-pop, neon-cyberpunk, nature-earthy, retro-vintage, pastel-soft, and mono-terminal.
• Data cleanup removed 16 non-skin entries (tutorial pages and stray markdown that had been imported as skins) — the catalog now contains actual themes only.

The Wangnov collection, in context

The Wangnov awesome-codex-skins repo is the closest thing Codex has to a community theme market. Its 50+ skins in this index include:

• Classic palettes like Monokai Stone and Gothic Void Expedition.
• Light and airy options like Amber Dusk.
• Cultural and fantasy themes like Celestial Court.

All of them install the same way — the install guide covers every method.

What’s coming

• More community imports from the other major sources (HeiGeAi, the anime and game-themed repos).
• Better categorization of the “other” bucket — skins that don’t fit the curated eight yet.
• Per-category best-of roundups, so you don’t have to browse 99 pages to find a good dark theme.

How to browse the new skins

The skin index now has a category navigation bar — jump straight to dark, light, anime, neon, or terminal themes instead of scrolling the whole catalog. Each skin’s page still shows its install format, palette, and compatible platform.
