Index Update: Retro & Pastel Categories Get Their First Dedicated Themes

The two thinnest categories in the index just got their first real attention. Retro-vintage and pastel-soft were nearly empty; this week’s imports give both a proper starting lineup.

Retro-vintage: the QQ2007 revival

The retro wave is led by a piece of internet history: the QQ2007 theme — a nostalgia-heavy palette based on the classic 2007-era look. Two entries landed:

• QQ2007 Retro — the faithful recreation.
• HeiGeAi QQ2007 Retro — a variant with slightly adjusted tones.

Paired with Solarized, which carries its own old-school credentials, the retro category now has three distinct options instead of being a footnote.

Pastel-soft: gentle themes arrive

The pastel corner also filled in with a clean, soft trio:

• Sakura Pink Dawn — the cherry-blossom pastel, immediately the category’s standout.
• Pink Custom — a softer, customizable pink.
• Hashimoto Arata — a gentle, low-saturation option for people who want pastel without pink.

Why filling sparse categories matters

An index is only as good as its weakest category. When a category has one or two entries, people assume the ecosystem doesn’t support that style and move on. Now that retro and pastel have real options, they’re searchable, comparable, and discoverable — which is the whole point of a curated index.
